Jaisinghpur

Jaisinghpur (Hindi: जयसिंहपुर , Punjabi: ਜਯਸਿਂਹਪੁਰ ), is a small town and Tehsil in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh, India. Population of Jaisinghpur Town is 1,273 and overall population of Jaisinghpur tehsil is 58,623. It was named after the name of Katoch king of Princely ordered state Kangra-Lambagraon, Maharaja Jai Singh. It is situated on the bank of river Beas.

Geography

Jaisinghpur is located at 31.900°N 76.600°E. It has an average elevation of 558 metres (1,831 feet). Jaisinghpur is on the southern border of Kangra District, close to its border with Hamirpur District. The Beas River has its course through Jaisinghpur.
